DIEPPE KITE FESTIVAL 2004
As part of a trip to France, Sweden and USA to fly kites and
visit friends we spent a few days at the Dieppe Kite Festival.
This photo captures in one picture what we find so exciting
about kiting:
* kites of all shapes, size and colour,
* line laundry, and
* wind garden
all moving in the wind.
These are a few of those special moments/events that have occurred as a result of our kite making and flying
around New Zealand and the world.

HONG KONG KITE FESTIVAL 2000
In 2000 we were invited to attend their kite festival at the
decommissioned Kai Tek airport.
As part of the pre-festival publicity the guest kitefliers were
given the opportunity to fly in the stadium used for Hong Kong
Rugby Sevens tournament.
Football and rugby players were the only previous users and
because they value the turf we had to take our shoes off. A
stadium designed to minimise wind is definitely not ideal for
flying kites!
However, what an awesome experience flying our Maui
dellaporta kite on turf that few football and rugby supporters
have ever been on.
